Frequently Asked Questions
What is an escape room?
Pretty much everyone. The game is suitable for all ages and you don't need any prior knowledge or experience. We recommend players are aged 10 or above to engage fully with the puzzles, though many younger children have played and loved it. There's nothing scary, no crawling and no heavy lifting — just puzzles, teamwork and a ticking clock. Teams with a mix of skills tend to do best, so bring your most logical friend!

How do I book?
You can book and pay online through our booking page. Alternatively, get in touch and we'll arrange a deposit to secure your slot.
Am I really locked in?
No. We understand that some people feel claustrophobic or simply need the loo, so you're never actually locked in.
What if our team size changes?
Book for your confirmed number and pay for any extra players on arrival. If you have maybes in the group, it's easier to book conservatively and top up on the day.
Is there parking?
Yes — free parking on site at the Cwmtwrch Welfare Hall. Occasionally other events at the hall mean spaces are limited, so it's worth arriving a little early.
How accessible is the room?
The room is accessed directly from the rear entrance of the hall. There is one step from the entrance into the room. Inside, there's no requirement to squeeze into small spaces, though some clues and puzzles are placed at varying heights.
What time should I arrive?
Please aim to arrive ten minutes before your booking time. This allows us to run through a pre-game briefing so you hit the ground running. If you arrive late, your game time may need to be reduced.
What is your cancellation policy?
We're a live event so payments are non-refundable, but we'll always reschedule your booking if you give us at least 72 hours' notice. Please take a moment to read our full Terms and Conditions on the booking booking page.
Do you cater for school groups?
Yes — we offer subsidised rates for school visits and can adapt elements of the game to complement what your group is currently studying. The puzzles naturally cover literacy, numeracy, science, geography, critical thinking and teamwork. Get in touch to discuss your requirements.
Can I buy a gift card?
Absolutely — Valley Escape gift cards make a brilliant present for puzzle lovers. Visit our Gift Cards page to find out more.
